چکیده

The Frequent-Pattern-tree (FP-tree) is an efficient data structure for association-rule mining without the generation of candidate itemsets. It is used to compress a database into a tree structure, which stores only large items. When the underlying data is updated, the FP-tree, however, needs to process all the transactions in a batch way. In this paper, we thus attempt to extend the FP-tree construction algorithm for the efficient handling of record modification. An expeditious FP-tree (FUFP-tree) structure is used to ease the tree update process. An FUFP-tree maintenance algorithm is also proposed for reducing the execution time in reconstructing the tree when records are modified. Experimental results show that the proposed FUFP-tree maintenance algorithm for record modification runs faster than the batch FP-tree construction algorithm for handling updated records and generates nearly the same tree structure as the FP-tree algorithm. The proposed approach can thus achieve a good trade-off between execution time and tree complexity.

Incrementally fast updated frequent pattern trees q

The frequent-pattern-tree (FP-tree) is an efficient data structure for association-rule mining without generation of candidate itemsets. In real-world applications, new transactions are usually inserted into databases. In this paper, we thus att...

An efficient algorithm for finding the semi-obnoxious $(k,l)$-core of a tree

In this paper we study finding the $(k,l)$-core problem on a tree which the vertices have positive or negative weights. Let $T=(V,E)$ be a tree. The $(k,l)$-core of $T$ is a subtree with at most $k$ leaves and with a diameter of at most $l$ which the sum of the weighted distances from all vertices to this subtree is minimized. We show that, when the sum of the weights of vertices is negative, t...

Improving Efficiency of Incremental Mining by Trie Structure and Pre-Large Itemsets

Incremental data mining has been discussed widely in recent years, as it has many practical applications, and various incremental mining algorithms have been proposed. Hong et al. proposed an efficient incremental mining algorithm for handling newly inserted transactions by using the concept of pre-large itemsets. The algorithm aimed to reduce the need to rescan the original database and also c...

Incremental Learning Algorithm for association rule Mining

These Association rule mining is to find association rules that satisfy the predefined minimum support and confidence from a given database. The Apriori and FP-tree algorithms are the most common and existing frequent itemsets mining algorithm, but these algorithms lack incremental learning ability. Incremental learning ability is desirable to solve the temporal dynamic property of knowledge an...
